Sorry but just one more question. For my tastes listed in the OP, which one is better- the ATH M50 or the Senn. HD 25-1 II? The reason I am asking is because both are the same price and I want to get the better of the 2.

Yes any adaptor should work as long as its the right size and compatible with your player. 
 
Also, if you like a good amount of bass, get the M50. The HD25 lacks sub bass from what I hear, not good for rap if strong bass is important to you. The M50 is more bass focused than the supposedly treble focused HD25. Your call.
