Can any body advice? I am looking for a new DAC. It is to replace my second source which is a Bel Canto DAC2 being fed from a Tvix 4100SH(LINK to set up). With my set up the sound can sound a bit digital and a strident, a lot of this is me being very sensitive to higher frequencies. I am thinking about a used NOS DAC and really only want to spend the selling price of the Bel Canto around $650, it needs to be musical and engaging. I have been thinking about Paradisea and Audio Sector DAC or is their other NOS DAC’s worth having a look at used or new. Also would their be jitter problems using the Tvix as a source, as I understand jitter is a bigger problem with NOS DACs

Thanks

A Stello DA100 (new) would fit just over the upper limit of your price range, or a used Signature model might be roughly the same. Both have upsampling which can be defeated via a switch on the front panel.

From what I've read the Paradisea is a great dac at that price range. There's one on audiogon for around $450.
