Hi everybody,

This is not for me actually but for a member of my family.
He's thinking about buying a pair of the new Apple AirPods Max.
He doesn't like how they sound. However, they meet three of his criteria :

• They have great noise cancelling
• They are very comfortable
• They are pretty and classy (metal, etc.)

He's also tried the Sony WH-1000XM4. Sound was much better, but the headphones seemed "cheap" in comparison to the Apple ones.

So here's the question : can we find a better alternative to the AirPods Max, given the criteria and the 600 € budget ?

Comfortable.... no...
B&O H95 is more comfortable but they are both expensive.
And both are hard to wear in winter though with hat and stuff

Why would anyone want to waste 600€ on a headphone that he doesn't like the sound of? Beats me. (pun intended )
If he's after silence, a pair of 3M earplugs go for about 0,5€.
If he wants to show off, just hang 2x500€ banknotes on a string around his neck.

If he likes the 1000XM4's sound and ANC is important just get it and enjoy the 300€ saving. Or get 2 pairs for the price of 1 APM.

Tell me about it ! I would never sacrifice sound quality. But to each his own. He's young, has money, and likes to spend it and maybe show off. Maybe some day he'll come around, but in the meantime...
