Anyone who owns either the universal or CIEM version of the Encores provide some thoughts on how they would sound when paired with a good DAC/DAP vs. just an open ear pair of cans paired with a desktop amp (Audeze LCD-X, LCD2C, Senn HD650, etc)?

One thing to note about IEMs vs open headphones in general: even if they measure similarly in the bass region, the headphone will likely seem to have less bass due to the lack of isolation.

Interesting. I can tell you though, the Audeze LCD-X I tried had MASSIVELY deeper and more articulate bass than my Kaiser Encore.

It likely measures with stronger bass overall. It's when you're comparing two with otherwise very similar response that the headphone will be at a disadvantage.
