Is it weird that my K701s have no serial number?

I bought them new off eBay about 6 months ago and had them re-cabled with APS v3. They sound great... but, I figured I would check to see if the serial number thing is something people know about.

Look like a plastic sticker on the left side , maybe the sticker came off...

I also think the sticker might have come off. You can check packaging box if you want to know the serial number. On the back side you should see another sticker that shows serial number as AK0002-XXXXX.

lol... now I'm a little weirded out.... I just checked the back of my box and there is just a blank spot under "SERIAL NUMBER"... no sticker there either.

ummmm..... what, do I have pirated headphones?

I also had serial number removed from the box with my first pair of Sennheiser HD650’s. It’s highly unlikely a copy. But could be a return being re-distributed as new, by a somewhat dodgy ebay vendor.

Wow... that's a bummer.

It's weird, I owned a pair before this that did have the serial number, and the packaging was identical to my current k701s.

I mean, everything SEEMED brand new... but now I'm not sure. This definitly taints something though...

Get Alex to install stock cable again and return it, is it under warranty?

Na, I doubt it... I bought them from an eBay dealer... and that was about half a year ago.

I asked Alex about the serial when I first received them, and he said that he had seen another pair like this too... so I just brushed it off until now.

So that means someone tore open the original shrink wrapping, ripped off the serial numbers, then re-shrink wrapped it?

Hmm... chill pills didnt work long term.

Does anybody else have any experience with this?

If these were worn and returned for some defect that I may not be detecting... I would rather just sell them for peace of mind to be completely honest.

Yeah, my OCD alarm would be going bonkers by now. I'd say sell them to get them out of your mind ASAP at this rate. No use keeping them around if the nagging is going to remain in your head the whole time they're on your head.
