No line out=no amp

My creative zen touch doesnt have line out, so I cant use an amp?

you can use an amp. the sound most likely won't be quite as clean as a player with a line out, since you will be double amping the signal, but you can still use one with no problem. you will want to put the sound to about 80% on the player, and then use the amp to control the actual volume outputted to the headphones.

The line-out is not amplified, whereas the headphone jack is amplified. Using the line-out with an amp will sound cleaner than amping from the headphone jack.

I use an amp with the headphone output of my Zen Touch. Sounds great. Of course, it depends on your headphones too.

Using line-out made a huge difference for me (Ipod + Pocket Dock). The PD is probably the best investment I made in audio.

I can't listen to my iPod w/ out the Sik IMP or the PocketDock anymore. Unless I go "bareback" and leave amp and Ety P/S adapter at home like when I'm skiing.

Using a pair of e3c, worth getting some sort of cheap amp? Cmoy?
