I guess we'll have to wait and see – I just did a quick search and the "spy photos" are all over the place but couldn't find anyone absolutely refuting or substantiating the rumor...

I just got the d80 recently and wasn't figuring on upgrading for at least two years and the d3 is just too expensive to justify for me since it's not for professional use but I would so love a full frame sensor...

D700 is still in a different price bracket. I wonder if that'll affect D300's prices or there will just be people who unload theirs to upgrade to d700.

I was hoping it would be a mini D3 but it's more like a bigger D300.

I like the bigger AF point coverage of the D300 though. :/

Looks nice and for those really wanting the D3 but would like to save the $2000 for the more important things. Smaller form factor is great and keeps the excellent ergonomics of the D200/300, and it looks like the great F100 with that large viewfinder prism.

Man...I'm loving the full frame sensor, but at $3K vs. $1.8K for the D300, that might be a tough sell to pay $1,200 for the full frame sensor...

Hmmm...But now I don't have to replace my wide angle 17-35mm lens so that's like $500 off right there, so...
