Hi everyone

I decided to move forward and buy my first headphones that will cost me 300-350 usd, at this moment i own akg 181dj, shure srh840, panasonic rp-htf600, i love clarity of shure, bass of akg and price of panasonic , lol
biggrin.gif
and i hate lack of bass with shure

90% of music i do listen to are deep/tech house and hip hop

as i will be using my new head phones only at my flat sound isolation and stuff like that does not matter for me (for travelling will use my akg) my main source is going to be creative sound blaster x-fi titanium hd that comes already with headphone amp and about of 80% of my music collection is in flac format

and one more thing i can sacrifice comfort for sound quality if needed

thanx for all your upcoming advises

MalVeauX pretty much listed the best cans for the genres you listed.

Hifiman HE-400 (399$ not my price range)
Ultrasone HFI 2400/2500 (229$ below my price range / 389$ not my price range)
Beyer DT990 PRO ( 168$ below my price range)
Beyer DT770 PRO ( 170$ below my price range)
Denon D2000 (319$ in my price range)
AudioTechnica A900X ( 227$ below my price range)

so only one headphone is in a range of 300-350 usd and although i am pretty sure beyer & ultrasone models mentioned here are very good headphones i'd prefer to have some more expensive options to choose from

HE-400 can be gotten at $350 new through HeadRoom. Just give them a call during the week and ask for their best price on the item.

Why does it have to be in that price range? You do realize price =/= performance? That is the number one mistaken assumptions made by people who haven't been in this headphone business for long. These are all excellent cans. It's hard to match the 300-350 usd price range exactly anyhow due to a limited number of brands.

niten

thanks for the info, will speak to them !

Horse-Fi

not sure abot that :)

Lord Voldemort

because I have that amount and am willing to spend it ! sure i understand what you are talking about and my panasonic rp-htf600 for 30$ sound much better then maybe many headphones that cost 150$, but for instance if there is a option for 300-350$ that will suit me better then DT990 i am willing to pay for it, that's it, nothing more nothing less, whole philosophy :) so its not about a mistake or being in business for a long time or not. peace

p.s. but if the point is that if i pay 350$ and won't get better sound then beyer offers for 170$ then for sure i'll get them
