Hi guys, i'm a noob here....i've been collecting lower cost headphones for a few years now. I'm a working/teaching guitarist/bassist by trade but i find myself mixing and mastering for budget projects by times ...i'm a student of the game and feel i do a good job. No one has told me otherwise LOL.
My wife and i are currently renting so headphones are very important when i need to mix etc....i can't blast my monitors, i just mixed an album mostly on cans ....i don't mind at all, i just need to watch my reverb sends....they can be aggressive with headphone ref.
So my current stash of headphones is : Beyer 770 pro, AKG 240 mk1, AKG 141 MK2, AKG 141 MK1, KRK 8400
On the last project i concluded the AKG 240 were the most honest so far .... i used to be a huge fan of the 770 but they are scooped to my ears now.
If i were to put some more cash into headphones and really upgrade what would your recommends be?
FWIW ....definately an AKG fan ....haven't tried Grado yet ....
Can we put a ceiling of $1500 on it?
Thanks
