Summary:
XBA01: 
Uses special isolating gel. No brightness in treble section, and have a fake soundstage. The reviewer did not like this one at all.
 
XBA02:
The "flattest" response out of the 4, flavorless, but with good low end performance.
 
XBA03:
The reviewer recommends this the most out of the 4. Excellent vocal reproduction (clear and bright), with good reproduction of highs and lows. Bass does not cover any details, and excels at piano accompanies.
 
XBA04:
Less smooth than XBA03 because the super woofer covers details. Good for pop. This is probably aimed at the consumer market due to its pleasing sound signature.

that helped a bit, but i'll need to see more thorough reviews.. because that will only tell you to get the 3. wow they seem really nice, maybe i'll start saving up as well.. but i am afraid these would come out way too expensive...

The prices mentioned above are the japanese prices and i don't think that they will sell them cheaper abroad.

Makes me wonder if the XBA03 or 04 will make it to Canada. Sony for the last few years seems to have given up on selling some of their top tier products over here.

The XBA-4 looks like a competitor to the TF10 then. Same MSRP

Need to wait and watch how low the Supa-Woofa in the 4-driver model goes. A bit of EQ could put L-Gaga back to Mozart.. I am in Wait-n-watch mode
