Loosk promising, but (as Pee Wee Herman says, everyvody has a big but) it is SDMI and it seems you are only able to play compressed audio from a SD Card, not the CD. But it's kinda cool to have a recorder like that.

The announcement of this CD-->SD recorder is accompanied by the announcement for larger-capacity SD cards. The 256MB card will be released in December, the 512MB card next January.

The high quality mode of AAC compression used in Panasonic SD portables is 128kbps, so you get plenty of time with that (4, 5 hours?). The 512MB card is expected to sell for about 60,000 yen on the market; 30,000 yen for the 256MB card. Existing SD cards (32, 64MB) will drop in price on monday. (source: b2o.nikkei.co.jp)

Notice the titling on the recorder is through cell phone-like keys.
