Hey fellas!

I have a Grado SR60 and an ETY ER4-P. I would like an INTRO + Best BANG (or should I say "CAN") for the buck headphones.
{translate= does not cost an arm and a leg}

I would like an AKG, Senn or Beyer, unless you suggest otherwise.

I own pretty much most of the vintage SONY PCDPs (D-555, D-515, D-E900, D-777, D-303, D-311...) out there and would be using the headphone with them WITHOUT an amp.

I would TRULY appreciate it if you did NOT get technical (sound quality, specs, any info. I will have NO clue about) and just provide me with a few suggestions.

I know this is going to be hard since SO many of you know SO much and are SO biased about certain type of headphones.

I would like 3 suggestions from each person and a SIMPLE explanation (none is fine too) and I will do a search on them on the forum.

Your help is greatly appreciated and PLEASE do NOT thread crap on other people's suggestions. I just want YOUR suggestion for me. Thank you for your time and response.

I have the "old"(one year old) beyer DT-880 which I paid $200 for, they are a BIG bang for the buck imo. I've not heard a lot of different cans but I also love my Senn HD 650($300).

Are you sure you don't want an amp??..not even a $60 PA2v2. Hey! sell a couple of those PCDP and BAM! -money for an amp

I guess under $300. That is usually my cut off line. I got the Grados for $45 and the Etys for $200.

I listen to EVERYTHING! Soundtrack, hip hop, XM, Classical, New Age, Pop, Rock, Opera, Club, Dance, Jazz, Country...

I am a PCDP & headphone guy, an AMP would mean an extra gadget and clutter, unless you ABSOLUTELY think I need to get one. Never had one but my Grado and D-515 or D-25 sound awesome with no amp.

Thank you guys!

Ok higher end none amp HP's under $300
Audio-Technica A900
Senn HD595
Grado SR225

Some of the nice Senn, AKG, Beyerdynamic cans really need an amp to get the most out of them.
