Welcome to Head-fi, sorry about your wallet! good choice on the MS-1, I heard from Lisa that it's the best can under $100, but you'll find that out for yourself! BTW you won't be able to use that Tube MP since it's mono, like a guitar output is - I suggest you get a mono to stereo adapter, but it will still be mono in both channels. Better yet sell it and look into something like a Cmoy for starters! Once you do, enjoy, run far far away from Head-fi, and don't look back!

My 10 dollar sony wraparound blue buds weren't cutting it (no bass) and the new ipod buds were great for a while - but it seems a bit muddy. I read about Grados in a mag, and eventually I came here. After trolling here for a few days, I decided to get the Alessandro MS-1, and while I'm waiting I read a bit more and decided to go get that 7 dollar project case from Office Max and the 3 dollar rat shack flats - yep I VWAP modded them too. In fact, I bought rat shack mini flats for my ipod buds and vwapped them too - the buds sound the same tho to my untrained ear, oh well. has anyone compared the modded rat shack flats to the stock comfies (i'm assuming they are coming with the ms-1s)? if not, i'll let you know if i hear any difference once my cans come Edit - oh yes, i also have a microphone pre-amp called a Tube MP that I use for my guitar, but i guess i could use it to listen to music, which I haven't tried yet. What do you think, will the Tube MP really make a difference from my ipod driving the ms-1? |
