I haven't gotten the super mini yet. I have the ER-4Ps and iPod 3rd gen.

Does the bass booster EQ setting add distortion, or what? I haven't done serious listening tests, but it seems to muddy up the bass with it on...

When I get the amp, will the same thing happen? I hope I won't even need bass boost with an amp!

are you talking about the ipod EQ settings? cause i wouldn't touch those ever except to verify that they do really mess up soundquality. (i haven't tried them since the 2.1 update though)

bottom line, is that the best sq out of an ipod probably comes with the equalizer off. i hope xin brings you the bass you need. happy listening.

The iPod EQ settings are really pretty awful for serious listening. Turn them off for best results, and match cans to get your desired kind of sound.
