You won't get a detachable cord, but I consistently recommend the Sony MDR-V6.  It can be had for $65-$75 at many places.  Be sure to get the Pearstone velour pad upgrade.  I've been told that recording/broadcast studios order cases of both and rip the Sony pads off the phones and put the velours on as soon as they pull them out of the boxes.  It's a cheap, $20 upgrade that addresses the main problem with the V6's (pleather pads that disintegrate within a year).

The V6's emphasize the bass and treble and sound better than Beats at a much lower price, IMHO.  They've been sold since the 80's.  Sony has tried to take them off the market before, but there was too much of an outcry and they were forced to continue manufacturing them.
