Hello,
I am trying to decide whether or not to dive into the CIEM world. For the last three years I have used Shure E500's for stage monitoring and some mixing in logic. I still use my IEM's for those purposes and have recently done some "mobile" mastering. So I guess I am asking for the world - If I decide I to do a CIEM I would like the sound to be balanced/accurate enough to get my mixing and mastering close to reference, but still have enough musicality and warmth to be used as a stage monitor.
My budget has limited me to these choices (at least that I have seen, I am open to other options): 1964 V3's, Sleek Audio CT6's, Alien Ears CFR3's, Livewires Trip's, or I can just stay with the universal Shure E500's that I have. So basically two questions for thoughts and comments.
1. CIEM's in this situation yes or no and why?
2. In that $400 to $500 price range which one of these would be the best?
Thanks for the help and discussion I have enjoyed this forum and hope to learn more here,
Darin
