I really like the sound, but the comfort level is not what i expected. Is there any way to make this a cup over the ear type headphone.

Not without the sound being adversely affected. You may want to try different pads or the sock mod. Also many get adjusted over time.

There's always the 'comfy' pads -- personally I did find them to be rather comfy (but too bad about the sound).

Actually, the 'comfy' pads come as stock on those SR-60's - at least currently produced ones.

I've never owned a Grado, but I think I remember something about bending the headband a little? I would wait for someone to confirm this.
