Hello everyone, I'm new to this forum, and I just recently started to look for a set of headphones that fit my needs. I really enjoy listening to classical music, and some progressive metal too. The price of the headphones better not go over USD 200. I was looking at some of the Beyerdynamics DTseries, and some Senhenser HD series, which I'm not sure if they are the best in this price range. Please recommend me the best headphones you think for classical music in this price range. Thanks a lot!

It would help to know what source(s) your going to be plugging the headphones into?

The Audio-Technica AD900x is great for classical music and isn't expensive. The Sennheiser HD600 is really amazing but you were probably referring to the lesser models, in which case the AD900x is probably better.

The mdr ma900 plays classical wonderfully.

The 12-Ohm Sony MDR-MA900 might be the perfect headphones for portable audio.
But would it sound good connected to a high impedance output jack, on the laptop.
Maybe he could get a USB-DAC-Amp for use with the laptop?

I often use my iPod and sometimes my laptop.

Will you be on the move using the iPod and headphones?
or just something to use while basically stationary?
