ok i just recieved my EMU 0404
what kind of software do i need to install to get a better sound quailty.
what is ASIO?
i installed it into FOOBAR2000 v0.8.3 and i only recieve a ERROR message

what more modification do I need to do to work it out?

You need to set the output data format (in the Playback preferences) to 32bit fixed point.

I guess you'll need to create a PatchMix session with 96 kHz for this to work - currently the card seems to be set up for some other sampling rate. ASIO is best looked up with the search engine of your choice.
