Am planning to getmyself a wadia 121 in the next 2 months..but have a question in advance..are there any quality aftermarket upgraded power supplies to replace the low grade psu provided with the 121. Thanks!

No, because the Switching power supply provides multiple voltage requirements to different circuit sections of the 121. So an aftermarket PS is not feasible.

I've been running a 121 fro a little more than a year ... got it NOS from a local dealer at a silly price.  My experience has been overwhelmingly positive, to the point that two of my friends now also have 121's.  I find the unit to have great musical insight, with strong dynamics and detail retrieval.  Nicely full-bodied with a warmer and non-glared presentation compared to most other Sabre DACs.  Soundstage is nicely proportioned but not overblown to the point of becoming unrealistic or disjointed. I compared the 121 with some fairly exotic alternatives and it held it's own.

Apart from curiosity I do not see the need to change my DAC for a long time. Would love to upgrade the power supply to see what t really can do.  Other than that the only niggles are the temperamental USB input which necessitates a reboot (which in turn is difficult as it doesn't have a power button) and volume control that claps out sometimes. Small niggles really - I'd recommend anyone who craves high-end performance on a budget to seek out and try a gently-used Wadia 121.
