TOPPING has upgraded its popular DX5 model to the DX5 II, which is now available in three color options for $299! What improvements can you expect? Let's take a look!

The DX5 II features dual independent ESS DAC chips—specifically, the ES9039Q2M. This design produces a higher signal-to-noise ratio, greater dynamic range, and lower distortion compared to the original DX5, providing an enhanced high-resolution audio experience.

It incorporates the X-Hybrid headphone amplifier circuit, representing a significant technological advancement from the previous NFCA architecture. This new triple-stage hybrid amplification design not only maintains the ultra-low distortion and high dynamic range characteristic of the NFCA, but also significantly improves efficiency by optimizing circuit topology, resulting in reduced static power consumption and heat generation. Despite its compact size, the DX5 II houses a fully balanced, quad-channel amplifier.

Additionally, equipped with QCC5125 chip, the DX5 II supports Bluetooth 5.1 and can handle audio up to 96kHz/24bit. It is fully compatible with LDAC, aptX Adaptive, aptX, aptX HD, AAC, SBC, and other audio codecs, allowing for high-quality audio to be transmitted wirelessly, delivering a music experience that surpasses CD quality.

DX5 II is equipped with a 6.35mm single-ended jack, a 4.4mm balanced jack, and a 4-pin XLR headphone jack, catering to both low-sensitivity headphones and high-sensitivity IEMs. With an impressively low noise floor of just 1.8 µVrms, it ensures that even the most sensitive IEMs are free from any audible background hiss. The DX5 II delivers a powerful output of 7600mW per channel, allowing most headphones to achieve their full performance potential.

TOPPING has developed a brand new parametric equalizer adjustment that supports ten customizable frequency bands. Their innovative PEQ algorithm, along with desktop software, allows you to fine-tune the frequency, gain, and bandwidth of each PEQ band. The software supports the import of target curves and raw curves, enabling you to perform curve compensation using the target curve. Additionally, it can save multiple profiles for easy switching between settings. All outputs can be independently configured with PEQ, allowing for precise adjustments for both headphones and speakers.

The DX5 II also features a preamp mode. In this mode, you can adjust the output volume of the device and connect it directly to a pure amplifier or active speakers without the need for a separate preamplifier. Both the input and output interfaces of the DX5 II include volume memory functionality, which automatically restores the last set volume when switching outputs. This feature allows for a quick return to your preferred listening environment.

It looks excellent, have had the original half a dozen times and 6.4 watts at 32 ohm is really impressive. Hope they send one to Amir at Audiosciencereview to see how the noise floor is. Hope more DACs go PEQ instead of MQA nonsense.
Yes, an ASR review is anticipated. But according to their official AP charts, the results are superb.

crazy now you get the OG A90 power in an AIO that's just under $300... eyeing this after I get rid of some of my existing stacks

Ordered, should be here in a week or so according to the confirmation. Will be comparing directly to the Luxsin X9 I have and the FiiO K13 R2R (coming this month I think...)..

No real interest in parametric EQ with the speakers and headphones I have (Arya Stealth + Triangle Comete 40th Anniversary), the bypass mode just letting the outputs do what they do best is music to my ears.

That's a strong response to SMSL's DO400. It took them a while though.

Very nice! The DX5 II is a bargain and the new styling is attractive and kinda reminds me of RME Audio equipment; but at a fraction of the price. 👍
