Hello All,

I've finally finished (theoretically) the tube headphone amp design that I have been working on too long. This is a pretty involved design as far as the filament supplies and the PSU go. The amp is pretty straight forward though. This is not a cheap design even if you don't use boutique parts. The output trannies are Fender Champ output transformers that are available through the New Sensor Corp. for about 40 USD apiece. All of the resistors that are in the schematic are Mills non-inductive wirewound resistors. I've heard that they are very good in tube circuits although any resistor of the right resistance will work fine I'm sure. I haven't built the circuit yet but I'm saving my pennies. I just wanted to share

I've been gathering parts for my own SET amp and I was wondering if there was something in your calculations that precludes the use of a single 6h30 to drive the whole thing. The 6h30 seems like a pretty robust tube with high current capabilities and low plate impedance. I'm going to build mine with just the 6h30 and see how it works out.

Why Fender champ OPTs? I think the Hammond 125SE series aren't too much more and got pretty good reviews (links on angela.com if I remember right).

It's look great ! I have a Simuliar designbut use 2A3 as power , Driver stage use 6DJ8 in SRPP , direct coupling to 2A3 (2A3 run at low current , around 22ma only). It sound great ! So I think your
amps sound great too. It is difficult to control the Hum ! It need a very clean power supply.

Yes ! It is our top model Headphone amps. It have simulair design idea as MG-head OTL but use 2A3 as output tube. Have transformers output and OTL output. It also have 4 Input , 2 Line Output ........ Dual mono , tube rectifier (6X4) , tube regulator - 6BM8. 1 Power section/Channel. (1 Power , 1 6x4 , 1 6BM8). You pay one but got 2.

Thanks for the vote of confidence Joe. I hope that mine turns out as well as yours. Wingman the reason that I'm using a 6B4G is because it's a directly heated triode. No other reason. That's the sound that I wanted. As far as the transformers go the 125 series Hammond are bandwidth limited. 150Hz - 20KHz I believe. Thanks again Joe. I'll let everyone know how it turns out.

Yes ! It is a new model difference from Tulip , Rochid .... It is a Line/Headphone Dual Purpose amps.

It have 2 Mode in Headphone Output not only OTL mode but also have transformers out just simulair to MG-Head OTL but additional 4 Line Input and 2 Line Output , remote.... Why not OTL ? It only additional not much cost but you have more function ! It taste difference on OTL mode and transformers mode. Just like coffe & tea ! Why not try both of it ?
