Hi guys,

I've just treated myself to a new toy. A good condition Tanberg branded Thorens TD150 mk.II

I have this thing about turntables and this will be my fifth. Others are a Dual 506, Pioneer Pl-L1000, Rega Planar 3 and a Pro-ject RPM.

I had a Thorens TD150 with a Mission arm and Nagaoka MP11 (Boron) back around 1996 but I didn't appreciate it's quality at that time. I sold it to fund the purchase of a vastly inferior Project 1.2. I now realise what stupid thing that was to do.

I sold a computer earlier this week and have a bit of spare cash. I spotted this on the 'Bay yesterday and sniped it at the last moment. I got it for £48 ($80) including the delivery.

Anyway, it's my 30th B'day coming up this weekend and i've been a bit down recently because of unemployment so i've splashed out on this. Oh and i've been offered a job today so things are looking up

BTW, I should mention that it comes with a Shure M55e MM cartridge as well

I did. Poor misguided fool that I was.

I've been kicking myself ever since. Somebody got a bargain that day!

Yay! I'm glad you got a job. Like Edwood said, it'll really help you get more gear. Don't fight capitalism -- it's inevitable

. BTW, your turntable looks really good.
