Hi All

I am new to the world of portable Audio. I just purchased a Ray Samuels Audion P-51 Mustang and his LOD Cable to use with my iphone and iPad.

Questions:

Any reasion why the LOD Cable is rather short? Do longer cables adversely affect the sound?

Are there LOD extenders that will not compromise sound quality?

Given Ray's very short LOD cable, what is the best way to position the iPhone/iPad and amp (next to, above, below etc)?

Ray suggests 100 hours of break in. Since I only have iPhoen or iPad as my source, how do I do an extended break in?

Thanks so much

Jay

The lod is 6" which is standard for an lod. You probably should have asked him for a longer one if needed. This lod is designed to go from an ipod to the p51 bundled together and that is why the length is what it is.To do an extended break in you just hook up your source and let it play through the p51 and then cans.I am alternating between 2 ipods. One will charge while the other is running on the amp.

Yep, it is designed to use when the source and amp are tethered together. Longer and people would be upset as there would be too much wire. I would imagine Ray could have made you a longer one if needed but if you go portable, most of the time you would most likely appreciate the shorter length.

I just got the same combo and it is great. Wish they had blue available when I got this one.

The Lod length is measures from tip to tip, not just the length of the actual wiring.

I guess standard is 5" not 6.
