I use iTunes for playback and managing songs, VLC is good because it will play a myriad of files but has shoddy stability so I dont use it much other than video. VolumeLogic is interesting and is suppose to give you better sound quality I tried and it seemed ok. RetoPlayer is a cool app to playback music and makes it sound like a record, its mostly for fun.
