Hey guys i own right now a pair of Sennheiser HD 8 Djs and Audio Technica ATH M50x 
i am running a Schiit Audio Magni and Modi
 
for some reason i have been really wanting to try a open back / audiophile head phones which i have never tried before 
i really want the hd 700 or 800 but way out of my range wish i could buy them though lol
 
are the HD 650s good for Rock / Metal / Alternative / Indie / Rap / RnB / and Some Dance music
i also game a hell of a lot 
 
the hd 650s will kinda be my every day non stop headphone for my computer
 
which would be you tube videos, Netflix, Gaming, Listen to music, basically getting used all day every day for all different stuff

HD650's are warm, slightly dark, with an open sound and are one of the most recognized cans on the market. From my auditions, I would certainly recommend them from your genres, unless you like your metal to have lots of bite in the treble. Gaming should be fun too, they image well and are open enough that you should be able to pinpoint sounds quite well need be. You can wear them for hours, and they'll last you a long time.
 
Other options in your price range could be the AKG K712 Pro or Massdrop Edition K7XX, Beyerdynamic T90, or Hifiman HE-500's or HE-400i's.

These should show you the bass boost and uneven mids of the cans you have now. I think the HD650's mid presentation would really blow you away.

i was thinking of getting the hd650s for christmas so i am trying to get as much info on them as possible looked at every review so far on them on youtube and stuff like that. so i really appreciate your guys comments back

Hey guys just got my hd 650s in the mail.. and i love them! 
Thanks guys and the guy who mentioned that the mids would be a huge difference man you where right 
 
even though the hd 8 djs have some awesome bass i would rather take the mids and highs all day over the bass
