Ok cool thanks, it would be inconvenient to need a cd player, as mine broke last year. iPod/computer is a lot easier
As for the solo6c's, that's great for the price! I'll definately check out where I can test them this weekend.
Also would a ta2020 t amp be good enough for the bx2, or the mordaunts? And if so should I go nad or t amp?

Thanks everyone for the great help :)
After thinking long and hard I have decided to go with the Audioengine A5/A5+. I think they will be best for what I need in a school dorm and for parties etc. 
 
Now, if you don't mind, what are the key differences between the A5 and the A5+? Is it worth the extra money?
