Hey there!

As explained I've got a new sound card, and I have toslink optical cable from my computer and to my receiver.

Now comes the problem, the sound in itself is very nice, but once i play some bass heavy songs, like "In da club - 50 cent", the bass is distorted? Can it be the quality of the mp3 (it is 192kbps CBR), or is it some settings that is wrong?

All volumes are max'ed (except my receiver ofc :p).

Thanks!

OK here's a quick troubleshooter

1) Is the distortion on the recording? Timbaland makes some great beats but can't enginner for ****, either that or whoever does his masters needs to be taken out back and shot. Same goes for Iggy Pop's newer stuff. In fact a suprisng numberof CDs that make it out have dodgy clipping in them. Sigh.
2)Have you digitally increased the volume?
A) Is foobar set to unity gain?
B) Are you using any DSP?
2) Is it your amp? Try listening with another source
3) Is it your speakers/phones

Btw, how do you set Foobar to unity gain? And should i use the resampler DSP with my sound card?

Thanks!
