I had a question relating to computer audio. I am looking for a high quality sound card. I basically have up to 200 dollars to spend on this (I wasn't able to sell my current laptop and upgrade to a mac so I have some extra cash). I have looking for a high end sound card although I am not the most experienced in this field. Right now I am using onboard mother board sound and want some better quality in my music. I was looking at the asus xonar essence stx on newegg and reading some reviews. It seems pretty amazing. I actually bought the xonar dg for 30 dollars and then failed to realize I don't have a pci interface slot (should of gotten pci - express. I am a pretty moderate gamer but more heavy focused on the music aspect of it. I mainly would say I have a mix of mp3's mostly 320 kpbs. I don't know if there is something cheaper that would do the work or an amp or something is what I want. I mostly want to use this soundcard for listening/organizng music with my tma-1's and most likely with some cheap logitech speakers such as these http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16836121006&cm_re=logitech_speakers-_-36-121-006-_-Product.

Sorry for the long message. I know you guys are all extremely experienced in this area of computer audio and I am just looking for some great advice. (TMA's ARE AMAZING and I can tell people around campus that their beats by dre are for bads :)

Just wondering if I could get your opinion on a great sound card for my purposes. I like going all out and getting the best but  if you think it would be too complicated for a beginner to setup, then maybe I should look at something not as high-end.

I had one more question regarding a great media player to use. I was using vlc media player thinking it was better than winamp. I realize a lot of it is based on preference but I want to get some opinions and see what everybody uses. I want the sound quality to be the best. Now I just have to find a torrent site to download FLAC's haha.

What do you guys think about

first of all,the STX is only 2\2.1,so if you gonna use it as 5.1 u gonna have to connect it to a reciever via optical cable.
for those speakers an auzentech bravura will be more than enough, you can also switch OpAmps for your taste...
