The S61X series is a higher class - these are entry-level players.

the cues it takes for design are a: round central button: from old 800 series; b: option and menu botton placement within flush face from the new 700 and 820 series.

i like that it seems to keep away from the silly toyish rounded edges of the 600 series (which along with 828, i own)

"Each Walkman has a 2-inch QVGA TFT LCD screen, a FM tuner, standard codec support (MP3, WMA, AAC, Linear PCM) and a maximum of 76h 40m battery life. Each device is meant to be super thin, measuring at 8.5mm and will weigh just 50g. They are also compatible with Windows Media Player and iTunes."

76 hours? iTunes? Really?

I was hoping these would finally be high capacity (30 or so GB) Walkmans

I'm looking forward to see if future Walkmans will be compatible with iTunes as well. iTunes > WMP

LOL - that seems to be a common statement!!!

On topic: These are supposed to be the budget players Sony is about to release w/a few others @IFA. At least, thats what someone told me. I hope it's true as I REALLY want a 3" screen, at LEAST 32gb capacity, and a FRIGGIN FM TUNER!

i know this model:
-the batterylife is the longest comapre A and S series
-plasticbody instead of metalbody of S series
-sound quality inferior to A and S
-maximum sound volumn abt 60-70% of A and S

barget E is not same QUALITY, dont get confuse!!!

Reminds me of the Ipod, I don't think that is good for Sony marketing dept, if that is the impression that people get, when looking at this device.

most of the current batch of new walkmans seems to have taken too many styling cues from their sony ericsson counterparts, but this was not the case before, ex

HD1, HD3. HD5, A1000/3000, the older usb key like players (E600s, and older S700s) and of course the old 800 series, (80x and 81x)
