I’m just curious as to the big changes? Where are the listing of post counts now for daily or all time? Are they gone forever or moved, is there a place where this is explained?

I wonder if anyone else is having this issue - when I click on an email link for a post, instead of being brought to the correct page, I land on the first page of the thread. Is it just me? This only started within the last week.
Are you sure it is a link to just the post ID, and does not also includes a thread/page specifier?

The first always works for me, the second behaves erratically.

E.g. picking one of my own posts as a random example (Minori Nagashima), the following link format always seems to work for me:

https://www.head-fi.org/posts/18321875/

Whereas the link format as found in the browser address bar doesn't always work; sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't:

https://www.head-fi.org/threads/j-rock.973212/page-6#post-18321875

In my experience, links to Head-Fi posts that also include a thread or page specifier can behave erratically.

I’m not sure I fully understand. When I receive an email alert the blue button says “view this thread”, where I think before it said “go to post” or something like that and I don’t know how to change this setting, it doesn’t seem to be an option.

Ah, THAT email link (the button). I'm not sure TBH, I rarely use that button. It may be that their URL query parser has problems since the update.

Hi @BShaw,

I understand your confusion regarding this particular feature, because the "View this thread" button does have varied behavior depending on context and read records. This behavior matches that of clicking on a thread on the site. To go directly to the post, instead click on the post title, which is a direct link to the post instead of to the thread.

Best,
Ryan

Thanks Ryan, that did the trick.
Or, if clicking on the link in the email, it just takes you to the thread, but like the first page, there is a button up top called "jump to new". It will take you to the newest unread post.

Previously both button and header were pointing to the post, and I used the former w/o realizing the difference, but thank you for the hint because my primary flow was ruined after update :) Edit: but imo current implementation is counterintuitive, i.e. button (button description to be altered for sure) should lead to a post and topic/thread title should lead to the thread in general. I guess you were following message list UX, but that one is also not ideal :)
