I am looking for a good set of open air headphones for gaming that go around my whole ear. I think the HD-555's would be a good match for me but I have never heard them so I dont know if they will sound ok for gaming. I used to have some HD-212 Pro's and those seemed good for gaming just cause of their loose bass. Anyways I am open for suggestions just I want some open air headphones and something that goes around my whole ear, cause my ears would start to hurt with the HD-212 Pro's. Thank you.

I just got the hd555s for a Christmas present. Primary use gaming, secondary movies. So far I am liking them a lot but I'm used to cheap $20 pairs so...

are you the same person who asked this in another thread I posted in. well anyway, in case not I think the hd595s are more refined than the hd555's but for gaming, especially if you're not used to a decent headphone...the extra price may not be worth it.

That's true. No one pays as much attention to the sound quality when gaming than when listening to music.

Well I do love my music too, but I found some HD555's on a website for 100 dollars and I found the HD595's on there too but they are 60 dollars more. I am probably just going to go with the HD555's and spend the extra money on an amp from a guy who I was going to buy an amp from a year ago or so (the PA2V2) Thanks for the input, I will let you know how it all goes.

If you liked the 212s, take a good look at the DT770/80.

Well if it had to be open 595s if it could be closed I go with DT 770s or the A900s. Depending on how much bass you want.

I heard 5.1 headphones are a joke but maybe I was misinformed.

Supposedly the Medusa's are fantastic for gaming, but that's it, just gaming.
