I just started using a brand new pair of PX100's with an Ipod Touch and a 5g Ipod. No amp just connected directly. They sound great, as usual except with extended length high frequency noise, as in a soprono singer holding a note. When this happens there is definite distortion and crackling. Both Ipods have the same files in either ALAC or 320Kpb AAC. I have never heard this distortion before with cheaper, less audiophile grade headphones and never noticed this issue while the 5g Ipod was connected to the car stereo (which has 4 sets of component speakers, two subs and dynamat throughout). Now since that time though the 5g has been through some abuse, but the touch is brand new. Ipod battery power level or volume don't seem to affect this. Although it is hard to notice at low volume.

I just would like to know if this is possibly a normal burn in problem with the headphones or if you all think they are faulty.

Thanks
