I've really been enjoying The Felice Brothers recently. Of course, Iron & Wine and The Fleet Foxes are worth a listen in this category.

Female vocals... will have to think about that one.

For female vocals I'd recommend Lissie. She's got a real pretty voice. Her most recent release was an EP called Why You Runnin'.

I really liked Okkervil River, Marissa Nadler, Cold War Kids, Iron & Wine (which I think I have heard of), Lissie, Minus the Bear, My Brightest Diamond, and The Decemberists. Thanks again for all of you help. I enjoyed most everything, I think what I didn't like was only because of my picky-ness towards recording quality.
