New Minidisc player/recorder with OLED display

Yeah, but don't you still need to run your music (Mp3 or otherwise) through their proprietary software (sonic stage) before it's able to actually play ? If so, then there's not much of a difference considering that ATRAC isn't such a bad quality codec to begin with. Furthermore, I still don't see the advantage of any MD unit (except where recording is concerned) over HD players such as say, the IHP/H320; Karma etc, where you have many more AUDIO options such as:

Playlisting
Indexing/searching
FM radio
diverse playback methods/shuffle methods
Not having to carry/switch media

I guess there's more, but I digress. I do still have my Sharp MD MT 90, which has phenominal sound quality, but I don't think I could give up the conveniences of my DAP such as drag and drop without any software no matter what the computer etc... MD in any form just seems a bit out dated to me if it's not being used for recording. But, that's just me.

BTW, the Sony IS georgous.

It's the sickness you know. They say it can only be cured by spending a few years away from the internet, and especially sites such as Head-Fi. Puh ...Like that'd ever happen eh ?

Well I can't blame Head-Fi for it. I blame being a mod at DAPreview.net lol

I think group mode needs an update to support proper playlists. But I think I remember being able to repeat a disc or group, random play a disc or group, random repeat .. Some MDs can even do AB repeat. What other playback methods are there?

The RH10 has Search written on it. So I'm guessing that means you can search artists etc. Playback methods aren't what's missing.

There's 1GB of space per disc. It's quite a lot although probably not to compete with hard drive players and their 20GB. But 1GB isn't tiny, and now that you can use mp3 of whatever size you want.

The new display at least on the RH10 looks exactly the same as the NW-HDx players. I wonder if they copied the interface? It might act like a 1GB flash player, only the memory costs just US$7.

I want to see Sonicstage 3.0

The display on the RH10 is completely different from the hard drive player display. The RH10 display is an OLED screen which uses a lot less power than a normal lcd and can display multiple colors.
