I recently purchased a new Macbook pro as an upgrade to my Powerbook G4. I'm feeding my Apogee Duet from a firewire drive... all lossless and hi res 24/96 files from Linn and HD tracks.com to UE9s. The over all sound to my ears is very dynamic and cleaner than before, as if a veil has been lifted from the previous mac. I'm a happy camper.

Ain't technology great will probably get a new MBP when 10.6 is out.

That seems odd, if you were using the duet on both macs. Perhaps the g4 transmitted more noise via the firewire cable to the duet?
