Hello guys!
I need some advice on my new headphone purchase.
I have exactly $2000 dollars to spend.
I currently own the following headphones.

• Deep Morado Bolivian Rosewood V3 Darths
• Grado Elite tweaked by HEADPHILE.
• Lawton Audio LA7000

So far out of the three headphones the Lawton Audio LA7000 are my favorite, Darths are a close second, Grados are last.

Here is my music preference:
ROCK: John Hiatt, Little Feat, Bob Seger, John Mellencamp, Steve Earle...
MODERN ROCK: New Order, Ministry, Depeche, Tears For Fears, Simple Minds, The Cure..

What's your advice?
Thanks for your time,
Ray

Thanks third_eye, yes I am going to keep my current amplification.
My system is done evolving.
So, this is my new list.

SENNHEISER HD800 — $1499.95

AUDEZ'E LCD-3 — $1945.00

Fostex TH900 Headphones — $1,999.00

Best to buy with a decent return policy. I sold my HD 800s to help fund a TH900-turned around and sold the Fostex in less than a week and bought the Senn again. You just never know...

Really dig those headphone stands, assuming they are custom made DIY?

Hard to tell you what is recommended without you hearing them first, which imo is the wisest route to go especially since you're spending so much. But if you unable to, as mentioned a decent deal with return policy/limited trial is a good way to go as well.

BAAAAH don't remind me lol. Got some HD800s collecting dust at home, a Master 7 on the way....and an amp nowhere close on the horizon. So now an 009 tempts me lol.

You REALLY need to hear the Stratus with the HD800

Seems like you like wood modified headphones. Woodied HD800s, make it happen!

Kinda just want to chime in and say your current rig is extremely impressive.

God I need some RTR gear. That **** is sexy.

Also, with your preference for the D7000...TH900. Just do it.

I'm an HD800 fan myself.

Seriously though, if you are planning to stick with your current gear and just add a headphone, I would go TH900 no question based on your music and previous headphone preferences. WA6SE + HD800 won't be optimal.

Hi DefQon, yes all three headphone stands are custom made.

The taller red one was made by Steve at S2 Audio in 2008.
Sadly he no longer makes stands, the stand is truly a work of art.
The stand is made from Ebony and Bloodwood.

The center stand was made by Von, he too stopped making headphone stands.
The third and last stand was made by headphile.
