I love that the R4 isn't your standard black rectangle (with or without rounded edges). I'm not sure what color I like the most, the silver/orange one or silver/green one.
I also I feel like Hiby should add a black/green and black/orange version as well. Which in theory shouldn't be difficult as it's switching out some parts in the assembly process but I do get that it als means a new SKU or two which does have some extra costs attached to it.
The R4 looks to have good specs for a device around €300. But the one thing I don't get is the choice for 4x 9018C2M DAC chips as they are 3,5 generation old chips. I do get that they would be substantially cheaper than 9028Q2M, 9038Q2M or 9039Q2M DAC's but I'd prefer to see 2x 9038Q2M over 4x 9018C2M any day of the week.
There is also the chance that the 9018C2M is going to be discontinued sooner rather than later like the 9218C was a few years ago, which could result in premature discontinuation for the R4.
Do I notice the extra 1GB on the M15S? yes I do, it's smoother when multitasking and/or streaming high-res files for an extended period.
Is the M3U slow compared the the M15S? Not at all, the speed is good for a device of it's class and it doesn't have any issues with slowing down, just the multitasking isn't quite as smooth as the M15S and the 3GB fills up earlier when streaming. Then again I mostly use my devices with local music, only using streaming for music I don't have on the device so I don't have any issues with the 1 GB smaller RAM on the M3U.
For those who care; SOC wise the only real difference between the 660 and 665 is the GPU, the CPU part is identical. This only seems to have a noticeable performance impact if the screen is of 1080p resolution or higher. So for most DAP's the impact should be neglectable as 1080p is extremely rare for DAP's.

The two main devices I'm currently using are the FiiO M15S which has a SD660 with 4 GB and the Shanling M3 Ultra which has a SD665 with 3 GB of RAM.I was also checking Reddit and some posts seemed to claim 3GB ram is not enough for a smooth experience. I don't know anything about this, thoughts?
