Hi all, A friend on another forum recommended this site so I thought I'd check it out.

Am a gamer and love my headsets, However am getting bored of the USB style headsets and there poor sound and thought I'd try headphones with 2.1 rather than USB with onboard stuff.

I bought myself Sennheiser HD 558 High End Open Headphones with E.A.R. Technology and was wondering. What sort of amp/Soundcard would I be looking to mix up these headphones with, Any help would be great, Thank you.

are you gonna use HD 558 for listening music or watching movies or gaming or voip?

For gaming, you should get a soundcard, like the Asus Xonar DG.

Both E10 and HD 558 are good for a starter! I hope that you would enjoy listening them

judge the HD 558 after only using E10.
Most of onboard soundcards are crap!

Well I got my headset today and can't say I notice much of a change. Voices sound a little better but overall, My 60 quid headset out of a superstore was far better than these. I guess I'll need to wait for a amp.
