Hello, this seems to be the only forum I can post to, so here we go, I have a pair of Samson Z55 headphones that are nice, but their cords are proprietary and can't be replaced because the company emailed me back telling me the item is discontinued so no way to replace the phone call cord w/inline mic, so my question is I need a good headphone in the $200 range (more or less) that has detachable, replaceable cords that are not proprietary, any help is appreciated, Thanks!

I'd say Sennheiser HD6XX is a no-brainier offer for that price range if you like open-air over-ear headphones though.

The cable is detachable and you can get some upgrade cables for around $60USD.
However, this needs a proper DAP to run it flawlessly. If you are considering running it from your phone with 3.5mm stereo output,

As your previous gear is a closed-back studio monitor, and if you prefer the same style:
Sennheiser HD25-II
Beyerdynamics DT770 Pro 32Ohm ($159 on Amazon): I believe it's not a detachable cable though...
or Sennheiser HD25 Plus 70 Ohm (Around $150): it has a detachable cable.
