For promotion on the website, that's bad. A photoshopped promo pic.
Anyhow, I have tested RP-HX550 out of the box, so no burn-in. The headphone is pretty good.
The details are good for sub $100 full size headphone. The high are great, smooth, not too sharp, rather sweet. The low is impactful but still gets the details without the rounded bass overpowering the sound of percussions. The mid is there, acceptable, but the presence is a bit weird since the singers sound became different. Soundstage is good for closed headpiece.
Definitely for music lovers who like high beats (pop, dance, hip-hop, techno) and rock musics, but not for singer-minded listeners. For audiophile headfi, stay way. For those who just want to have a cool headphone to play music from their portable players, this is a steal in term of quality vs price.
