Hey folks...
I worked this summer vacation a lot. I made quite a lot of money (for my age).
I wanted to treat myself with new headphones.
I'm thinking of something like 100$ for headphones but I have more money so if there's something worth the extra tell me.
I listen to rock mainly.

Can you tell us a little more about how you will be using the new headphones?
Do you need portability?
Isolation important?
What will you be using the headphones with - portable player/computer/etc?
What is more comfortable for you - something in, on or around the ears?

For portable use I use my EP630s + I'm buying some KSC75s and maybe PX100s.
I need it for my PC. It's an OB sound card (don't worry, I'll upgrade it).
Isolation isn't that important although it wouldn't hurt.

Are the DT770/80 worth 200$? (150 the headphone, 30$ shipping, 20$ customs - worst case scenario)

It depends how you like your sound.

The DT770/80's are a good choice for rock but will require some kind of amp to really let them shine. However, they have ALOT of bass (IMHO, I mean ALOT) and a more closed in soundstage. They also require significant burn in time to reach a good sound (out of the box when I listened to my friends beyer's we both though these are $200????).

Grado's I haven't lsitened to personally but everyone around here says the SR60's are great for rock and about hte best bang for buck you can get.

Another option in the Sub $200 for rock I'm gonna throw out there are the Audio Technica ATH-A700's which I own myself. Nice, punchy bass (but not as much as the Beyers) and good highs with a great soundstage. The only downside I can find is the lack of detail and recessed mids which kind of forces the vocals to get drowned out by the instruments.

Under $100 the Grado SR-60's from what it sounds like are your best bet.

MS-1s are Grados (pretty much), not Sennheisers...

dt770's aren't good for rock imo.. sr80's even outperform my hd650s when it comes to rock music.

I know MS1s are mostly Grados, but got a touch of Sennheiser sound. I prefer pure Grados, but if I wanted something closer to Senn characteristics, I would have gone for MS1 (for the money).
