Decided to opt from full size headphones (sennheiser px360) to on ear headphones.

I've listened to the sennheiser 25 sp 2's - thought they were good, nice and light and decent enough sound. At time I thought the px360's were a bit better but having listened since I actually think the sp2's are a little more controlled.

Anyways, I'm after some on ear headphones, around £100 - £120, would prefer nice light and compact with good isolation and suite for dance/house music

I've looked and looked and the 2 which keep springing up are akg k540 or audio technica ath es55.

I'd prefer something where the cable entered on one side and removable would be a bonus.

Source is an iPhone 4, music is lossless or 320kbps, with a fiio e11 amp

Is there anything else to consider? Obviously he hd25's ii but they're around £30 over budget

Cheers

Leaning toward the akg k540 but sennheiser hd25 always at back of mind, are they really worth the £40 - £60 more?

The HD25-1 is an excellent headphone.  You might also want to check out the V-Moda M-80 if you can bump your budget up that high; not sure where you can get them in europe though.  You can't go wrong with the sennheisers though, they work really well for EDM.

Thanks for the pointers. Still haven't upgraded/sorted anything yet to be honest.

V-moda are a struggle to obtain in the uk, quite like a couple of the phiaton models as well as te b&w p3's which have just come out (have heard the p5's so assume p3's would be a decent buy)

Also the beyerdynamic dt1350 - but way over budget new!!!
