Hello, I am new here but not my first time on the site. I am coming from AVS Forum. I am in DJing, studio recording, and broadcasting. I am 20 years old and my father owns a professional recording studio that is partnered with Sony. Basically I want a new headphones/earphone that you guys can recommend me in honor of this. I like my bass big, tight, fast, and detailed. I like my mids clear
and detailed. I like my highs crystalline clear with no fatiguing points. My budget is under $200. My order of preference is Mids-Bass-Highs.

My current headphones:

Sony MDR-R10 - The best Sony can offer
Sony Qualia 010 - The second best Sony headphones
Sony MDR-V6 - Best studio recording headphones
Sony MDR-7506 - Same as MDR-V6
Sony MDR-V700 - Best DJ headphones
Sony MDR-7509HD - Nice when your recording high pitches instruments
Sony MDR-EX90LP - Nice little earphones for portable use
Sennheiser HD-580 - A great fun open headphones
Sennheiser PX-100 - Cheap to look at, good to hear
Sennheiser HD-280 Pro - My second best studio recording headphones
Sennheiser CX-300 - Nice little bassy earphones
Shure E2C - Nice isolation but a little pricey for the sound
Grado RS1 - Retro, great headphones but harsh highs
Grado SR60 - Good Grado bang for the buck
JVC HA-FX33 - Sounds like Shure E2C but more cheaper

Most of my sources are professional recording mixers, amplifiers, etc. The only amplifier I have to use is HeadRoom Balanced Desktop Amp.

My MP3 players:
Sony NW-A3000
Sony NW-HD5
Creative Zen Touch
Archos 605
Toshiba Gigabeat S

CD to:
MP3 320kbps
ATRAC 352kbps

Interesting that you say the RS-1's highs are fatiguing. Try these. The RS-1's are great headphones.

Yeah, the S and Ch is piercing my eardrums. Those pads help at all?

If you found the RS-1's fatiguing, maybe a sennheiser HD600 is in store.

I find 580 and 600 similar in sound. Tried them both. 580 is cheaper.

I ask myself that pretty much everyday...

Yay, someone else who appreciates the V700's. My bro has the 7506's and they also sound very good... in fact I think the mids were a bit better than my V700's.

And Portia Surreal uses V700's, too!

People tend to misuse this headphones. As it clearly states on the box in big bold letters "DJ REMIX USE". It's heavy, it packs power, it mimics night club speakers, extended highs and lows. People have different ears and different budgets and what sounds good to them shouldn't be someone else's business to tell them what sounds "right" to "wrong".
