Here are two URLs I stumbled over, http://www.emiglobal.com/mp3/chd1000.html and http://www.edig.com/products/reference-jukebox.html. Could be vaporware like the Treo, but OTOH it wouldn't hurt if the Ipod got some competition (and with larger HDs). It looks like CircuitCity is offering something along these lines but their picture looks differnt. Anyone got more info?

is just a drawing. Probably a concept piece. The first one looks nice. It does have a bigger HD than the iPod but that also means it is bigger than the iPod. 1.5in. HD's don't come any larger than 5GB. That means the first one uses a 2.5in. HD which means just its HD is as big as an iPod. The thing that makes the iPod special is the speed, size, and ease of use. A company is going to have to spend a little bit more money on R&D if they want to put out something that is truly competition. They'll also have to hire a good industrial designer if they want it to look as nice.
