I've been loving my new set of Grado SR225's for the past week! The bowl pads were uncomfortable and after a while, painful on my right ear. I guess that is due to a piece of the cartilage that may stick out a little bit more than the left....can't tell any difference in the mirror but sure can feel it! I tried reversing the bowls but it still wasn't quite what I wanted. The bass response was better with the reverse bowls though... I ordered a set of flat pads from TTVJ, and they came in today. Sounded a lot like the reverse bowls to me, but my ears were right on the drivers.

I took a set of pleather pads from an old set of panasonic headphones and they stretched over the flat pads perfectly! Seemed to give my ears a bit more room and the bass response is excellent but still keeping the shimmering highs. I am now in sound and comfort heaven!

I can't see the pics in the thread, but I copy & pasted the url's in the browser and they came up.

Those pads look like they would dramatically alter the sound of the SR-225s. Even though I find the bowls uncomfortable sometimes, I don't think there is any other solution to get the exact same sound and for me that's a compromise I'm NOT willing to make. More bass on these things would be a bad thing in my opinion, although, a little more extension would be ok by me.

Very strange! sometimes I see them when I open the thread and sometimes I see only one, or none.... Here is another try...

Hmm...I assume it sounds a lot like Larry's grado C-pad mod. Which I know a lot of people don't like. But maybe the $100 price tag has something to do with it
