Just upgraded to a new RS2E, sounds great but noticed that the driver is no longer red but is silver with black ink on it.
Anyone else get this and is it maybe an X based Driver?
My RS2e is about 18 months old, and has the bright red driver. The Grado folks are pretty responsive -- email them with the picture you sent, see what they say. That could be a transition-to-X driver maybe.
Done a little digging and the black driver has been in use since around Jan 2021 (another user questioned it on Grado fan club thread) , Grado are keeping shtoom, they say engineering and marketing don't give them that kind of info.

I also read somewhere that Grado now make the drivers in-house. I think in previous years they were made elsewhere and the stock dried up or they are no longer being made. So if these are the in-house that might explain the change....and possibly the change with the new X series?
