Hi all

Just picked up one of the satin silver PS2s today, and it appears that its greatly improved over the original version, with quieter fan, better DVD hardware / firmware, and inbuilt IR...

Sonically, it also appears cleaner sounding than its predecessor (or is that my imagination??)

Anyway... just curious how many of you have laid out the cash for the newest version?

700+ usd? Well, a regular PS2 is $149, so I kind of doubt that this silver version would be more than $50 more

I just checked out Playstation.com...and they have linux for PS2, I thought it was pretty cool Here

I found an L.E. Playstation 2, but don't know if it's the same thing...Ouch, 315 bucks

Hmmm...

Mine is the one on the bottom right hand corner of this selection...

Seemingly, its not so special afterall... unless its just the color coding of the other ones that pushes them through the roof

Wow, that's $250, pretty pricey, although the more special ones (blue) are just $15 bucks more than in the US. It looks nice, I hope you enjoy having a LE model

Are you talking about the upcoming PSX a white redesigned PS2 w/ TiVo and DVD-burning capabilities? I found it silly they named it PSX though, considering that's what people call the PS1
