I just received a new set of the Koss electrostatic headphone system. I am burning them in now. Right out of the box with a quick listen they sound smooth as butter. I will update for anyone interested.

Should be good! Hope there are no squeals. If that happens, I can advise on how to fix.

You can get better sound if you replace the Koss walwart with a larger amperage and hopefully cleaner power supply. I have been using an Elenco 3A bench supply which only cost about $65.00 a few years ago.

Alternatively, use the battery pack in preference to the Koss wall wart.

I cannot hear a difference with the elenco power supply XP 603.
I wasted over $100 on nothing...
I bought my Koss ESP 950 in May of 2008 so possibly Koss improved the Power supply you call the wall wart.
