New England Headfi Meet - Saturday December 6th, 2014!
Oct 19, 2014 at 6:11 PM Post #32 of 117
Ok, been thinking on what I could bring that would be beneficial. I don't have mega-buck set-ups that rival recording studios, just some modest equipment that really gives me some pleasure. I guess that's what this hobby is really all about. I would like to bring in some stuff that I really enjoy and share it with you all. I am hoping that you could do the same.

What I plan to bring (at this particular time):
Mac Book Pro
Schiit Modi/Magni
HD700
Fiio X1
Headamp Pico Power
Beyerdynamic DT1350 (Moon Audio Blue Dragon cabling)
Hard drive withs lots of 24/48 music, as well as some lesser quality files

Just looking to share see what others are running...

I'm moving back to NH next week and would LOVE to attend! I'm not sure what I'll have by then, but at the moment I have:

LFF Enigma with Norne Audio Vanquish Cable (will probably be gone by then, is up for sale)
JVC FX850
AudioGD 10.33
HD800 or LCD3 *hoping to have these by the meet*
Cayin C5 Portable Amp
JVC FXZ200 as well (lot of interest in these little things!)

Don't worry about what you're bringing. If you enjoy the headphones you have bring those. Everyone is going to love to hear people's setup. Even if its $50 pair of headphones on a $20 dac. I say this and I'm stressing about getting my 4 pairs of modded headphones completely done. Ideally I hope to have a woodie denon 2000 with velour/pleather hybrid pads, Completely modded Beyer 990 with custom grill, recabled, painted and dampened, my MS2000's that are already completely modded and if all goes well a pair of woodie rp50's modded, recabled and dampened.

Folex, just a FYI. I have a pair of D2000's that have a damaged cable that I'd love to get rid of real cheap if you're looking! Let me know.

Will you have your he-560?

They were just sold a hour ago... I'm looking to consolidate a lot of my gear for house money

That being said, it's unfortunate because they sound AMAZING on my current setup w/ the AudioGD 10.33 and balanced Norne cable!

No worries, it'll be worth it moving back to NH.  I miss the state every day!  This will be a great occasion to visit my parents and get some headphone time in.

I'm bringing my NFB-28, I also have the 10.33 but it won't make the trip.

Will also have:

RSA Intruder with Fiio X5 and line-out and maybe a Centrance M8 and IPOD Classic.  Probably not gonna bring my he-500, of-course maybe I won't pack clothes and will bring it instead.

NH is honestly the best state to live in. Lowest taxes, cheap everything, to your north is hardcore nature maine and to your south is huge city mass life. Both are less then 30-40 minutes to get too. Even better is going to North Conway (white mountains) which has some of the best hiking and people to be around.

I grew up in Lyme, which is one town north of Hanover where Dartmouth College is.  Sheltered and romantic, great place to be!  Lots of chillers in NH, and VT and ME IMHO.  Can't go wrong!

I'd love to hear the NFB-28!!

And we're moving back to NH because it is the best state! We missed it too much. Can't wait not to pay sales tax or state income tax again! And we're coming from the Republic of California...

I hate you guys!!! haha I'm kind of forced in maine. From Jan to Apr I work at an accountant firm and I make 80% of my annual salary in those 4 months. It allows me to have 8 months of dubbing off and doing my true passions.

Oh gawd I might be joining you guys xD

Anyways here's a interesting question, I emailed one member about it. But is any one that's local willing to open up their home for us visitors? I'm wanting to attend this meet but I'm kinda having a hard time a hotel that will fit into my budget! I can say I'm a cullinary student so if your nice enough to let me crash I can return the favor with some amazing eats ;3

But at the moment I'm looking to bring my portable rig, which now Consists of my Senn Grado [Balanced] and me SE MS1i,

I'm on the fence about bringing any of my Full Size Cans as I'd hate to have the Air Port Destroy them :/

Any one have tips for Flying with Headphones <.<

I've never had a problem putting headphones in my luggage, but I usually carry the one I care most about in my backpack.

(Also I'd love to house anyone but I live in a dorm so that doesn't really work...)

I'm still a little worrysome, though I've got some sad/happy news

I'm in the process of working out a hm901 purchase from Moon Audio, and I might forgo the meet :[ and Drive up to Moon Audio Instead, their store is about 160 miles from me [I drive 100 miles a day with work n school so 160 is nothing to me any moar] and get my first taste of "head fi meet" walking into their store front xD

But it might not work out and I might make this meet. Either way, I think though in the end I'll most likely opt to drive to something more local. As in all honesty, the Plane ticket to NE [which was $200 both ways] can get me 2 Nights in a Hotel n Gas there n back :/
